Privacy and cookie statement
Discreet Tattoo (hereinafter referred to as: “I, me, my”) respects your privacy and will do its best to ensure that your personal data is processed with care when you visit the website or place an order.
In this privacy and cookie statement you can read what personal data I process, why I do this, how I secure your data and what your rights are.
01. About Discreet Tattoos
Discreet Tattoos is the main responsible for the processing of data of (potential) customers, website visitors and users.
Discreet Tattoos is located in Angerlo, Dorpsstraat 75, 6986 AL and registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce under number 80884628.

02. How do I collect your personal data?
In most cases I will collect personal data directly from you. From time to time, I may collect data from outer sources. It is, for example, possible that a friend wants to offer you a custom design tattoo as a gift, which means that I will process your data.
03. Why do I collect your personal data?
Processing of your order
When you place an order I process your personal data, such as your name and address, email, telephone number, delivery- and payment details, personal messages and financial data, to process and deliver your order. For the processing of your order, I use several payment providers. The legal basis for the processing of this type of personal data is the conclusion and execution of agreements.
You can sign up to receive my newsletter. I will only send you my newsletter if you have given me permission to do so or if you’re an existing customer (I have a legitimate commercial interest to send direct marketing to my customers, unless you have indicated that you do not wish to receive my newsletter). Every newsletter also contains an unsubscribe link so that you can easily unsubscribe if you no longer wish to receive my newsletter. Good to know: when you unsubscribe, I will store your information in a list so that I don’t accidentally send you more emails (this is a standard feature of Mailchimp). Dealing with complaints
When you contact me with a question, request or complaint about Discreet Tattoos, I store your message and contact details so that I am able to respond to your message. If the question, request or complaint relates to my services, the legal basis for the processing of this type of personal data is the conclusion and execution of agreements. In all other situations, I process the data on the legal basis of my legitimate interest to be able to respond to your message.
Analysing the website
You can contact me or ask me a question by using the contact form available on my website. I process your name, email address and any personal data included in the message, so I can respond to your question or request. Are you using the contact form for the purpose of entering into an agreement? Then this data is processed on the legal basis of the conclusion and execution of agreements. In all other cases, your data is collected on the legal basis of your consent.
To comply with legal obligations
I may have to process your personal data because the law requires me to do so.
04. Third party websites, social media buttons
I have added social media buttons from Instagram and Pinterest to my website and a number of links to third party websites. If you click on a social media button, cookies are being placed. This privacy and cookie statement does not apply to third party websites and links. I cannot guarantee that these third parties will handle your data in a secure manner. 05. Storage period of your personal data
Your personal data will be deleted or made anonymous when I no longer need this information for the processing purposes as mentioned in this privacy and cookie statement. How long I keep your personal data, will also depend on legal requirements.
I apply the following retention periods:
- Have you placed an order on my website? Then I will keep your invoice data 7 years, on the basis of the legal fiscal retention period.
- Have you filled in the contact form on my website? Then I will keep your data until you are completely satisfied with my answer to your question or request.
Are you using the contact form for the purpose of entering into an agreement? Then the retention period mentioned above with regard to (online) orders, applies.
- Each cookie placed by my website has its own expiry date. You can read more about it in the “cookies” paragraph.
06. How do I protect your personal data?
I do my best to protect your personal data in the best possible way. That’s why I have implemented a variety of technical and organisational security measures to prevent unauthorized access of your personal data (Transport Layer Security for example). These measures are evaluated on a regular basis, and updated when necessary.
Please note that you are responsible for the security of your (computer) equipment and your own internet connection and that these are never 100% secure. The transmission of personal data over the internet is therefore at your own risk.
07. Do I share your data with third parties?
Discreet Tattoos will share your data with a number of parties where permitted by law. I may share your personal data with third parties when this is necessary for the execution of the agreement, you have given your consent, I have a legitimate
interest or the law obliges me to do so.
I may share your personal data with the following (categories of) recipients:
- Web hosting (mijndomein)
- Payment service providers
- Webshop software (Woocommerce)
- Accountant and accounting software (Moneybird)
- Suppliers of cookies
- Other IT-suppliers and service providers
You should be aware of the fact that your personal data may be transferred or stored outside of Europe. I will only do this if there is an adequate level of protection for the processing of your data. For example, a model clause agreement.
Update on declaring the EU-US Privacy Shield invalid: I am familiar with the ruling of the European Court of Justice (Schrems-II). Discreet Tattoos uses several non-Europeas service providers, and is currently looking into the implications of the ruling in this respect. 08. What are your rights?
You remain in charge of your personal data. You can exercise the following rights at any time:
- The right of access to your personal data;
- The right of rectification and erasure of your personal data;
- The right to restrict the processing of your personal data;
- The right to object against the processing of your personal data;
- The right to withdraw your consent at any time;
- The right to data portability.
To appeal your rights, please contact me through email (firstname.lastname@example.org) or in writing. You can also fill in the contact form on my website. Please note however, that in some circumstances I may ask you to provide additional information, for the purpose of verifying your identity.

I use both first party cookies and third party cookies.
11. Managing or disabling cookies
Cookies have their own expiry date. Cookies are therefore automatically deleted. Do you want to delete cookies before the expiry date? Most browsers support cookies, but you can set your browser to decline them and you can delete them whenever you like. Usually this can be done through your browser’s ‘preferences’. The ‘help’ section of your browser can guide you to the right place where you can disable the cookies. However, please note that if you delete cookies you may lose certain stored information (such as login details).
